About Me: David Emm, Senior Technology Consultant, Kaspersky Lab An anti-virus industry veteran, he regularly writes articles and white papers for publication, whilst also providing media commentary on the latest malware issues. David’s broad industry experience has enabled him to acquire in-depth knowledge of the business and technical issues facing enterprises during successive generations of viruses, worms and other malicious threats. David joined Dr Solomon's Software in 1990, playing various roles in the years that followed, including Technical Support Manager and Senior Technology Consultant. During this time, he was responsible for establishing and running Dr Solomon's Technical Support department, both in the UK and in the US, and was closely involved with customer seminars and technical training, including Dr Solomon’s Live Virus Workshop. Following the acquisition of Dr Solomon's by Network Associates, David worked as Systems Engineer, Product Manager and Product Marketing Manager, respectively. David has been with Kaspersky Lab since April 2004.

About Me: David has been working in information security for more than 25 years. He started his career in applied cryptography where he implemented a PKI-based messaging system way back in 1983. After completing a PhD in the same subject, he then worked for IT provider for a number of years doing amongst other things formal verification of code. Since then he has working in consulting, has been the Chief Security Architect for a global US-based bank, and then the Head of Group Information Security at Aviva. He participates in the BSI committees that provide the UK input into the 27000 series of standards. He is also one of the founding members and the Chair of the recently formed Information Security Awareness Forum. David has an MBA from London Business School, is a Chartered Engineer, and is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology. He also holds CISM and CISSP certifications.

Greg Day

About Me: Greg Day has worked in the security industry since 1991, initially with Dr Solomon’s, which today trades as McAfee. He wrote his own TSR virus interceptor as part of his University degree dissertation on Computer Viruses. Following his degree he built and led a Dr Solomon’s Security consultancy team. In McAfee Greg also helped found the Best Practices team and today he works as a Security Analyst. A frequent contributor to journals and keynotes speaker, with numerous papers published. Representing McAfee AVERT research team he’s involved with numerous security forums promoting awareness of security challenges and a range of initiatives.
